Our Christmas Pageant will be held on December 16th at 10:15 AM This year’s Christmas Pageant is traditional with the children participating as angels, shepherds, the wise men and more. Mixed in are traditional Christmas carols, a choir and the bell choir. Please come and enjoy! Christmas season church schedule: one service only on December 16th, 23rd and 30th at 10:15AM. Christmas Eve service on December 24th at 7:00PM.

“Music Ministry” Trinity is fortunate to have Heesoo Kim as our Director of Music. Hee soo was born and raised in South Korea, and attended the prestigious Musashino Music Academy in Tokyo. Although schooled in piano, he was drawn to the organ, becoming self-taught over several years. His ability to play extemporaneously is a great addition to his musical leadership of our worship services. Heesoo has the gift of interpreting the deeper meaning of hymns, liturgical settings, solos and other musical presentations. Heesoo directs our Hand Bell Choir, solos, choir, brass quartets and other special music in Festival worship services. As one of our new members said recently, Trinity has a "strong musical presence". Mr. Kim's spiritual depth and understanding of our Christian faith, as revealed in the joy of music, is the main reason for Trinity's vibrant music ministry. Our recently restored pipe organ is a treasured instrument for our musical expression.

Thanksgiving Interfaith Service Please join us for the annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday, November 20, at 7:30 p.m. Trinity has the pleasure to host and to welcome the community this year. Reflections on God, faith and Thanksgiving will be offered from Jewish, Muslim and Christian perspectives.

On Sunday October 28, Dr. Dennis and Paula Lofstrom will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tenafly to describe the hospital they’ve helped build and the work they have been doing in Tanzania with International Health Partners to bring improved health care to the region. About to retire after years of being involved with health care in Tanzania, the Lofstroms were approached by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania to undertake the building of a children’s hospital in Zinga, an area with one of the highest maternal infant mortality rates in the world and with no hospital facilities of any kind. The Lofstroms understood the difference such a facility could make and immediately accepted the challenge, a challenge that turned out to be a little more than daunting. First and foremost was the need to raise money for the project, then purchasing land and registering it legally, applying for approval, passing inspection, building roads, putting in wells and getting electricity, acquiring equipment to build, and the need for more money. However, ground was broken in June of 2013 and the first unit of the hospital was opened on April 18, 2016, with both pediatric and adult patients being treated in ever increasing numbers. An x-ray building has since been completed. Potable water, operating facilities, a birthing center and nursery units and pediatric wards added. Much has been done and the lives of many people have been changed for the better, but there is so much more to do. The Lofstroms are on one of their regular visits to the US to explain the progress of the health facility and the difference it makes to those they care for. And then there is the never-ending task of raising the funds to continue the work. Join Trinity Lutheran Church and the Lofstroms on Sunday October 28 at noon. The lunch is free and the Lofstroms are inspiring. Come to hear about one of the good things happening in the world today and the many ways to help be a part of it. Trinity Lutheran Church Fair - September 2018

Snack Pack Program at Trinity!! As part of Trinity's outreach to the community, the congregation purchased and then came together to fill over 1000 Snack Packs for the Center for Food Action (CFA) of Englewood. These packages will be distributed by the CFA to students to provide nourishing snacks for weekends when the school breakfast and lunches are not available to them. This project was part of the ELCA annual day of service — God's Work, Our Hands.

Trinity Lutheran Church Fundraiser Dinner Friday May 18 at 6:00 p.m. is our Italian Buffet Supper in the Fellowship Hall. This is a fund-raising event and we encourage you to invite friends, neighbors and families to join us for the evening. The food will be catered by The Italian Connection in Dumont and the menu will include sausage and peppers, beef burgundy, chicken francaise, an eggplant dish, cheese ravioli, sautéed vegetables, salad and bread, along with a children’s menu which includes chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks and penne with butter sauce. Desserts, wine, soda and coffee are included. Sorry, we’re not doing espresso. You have to bring your own. The cost of the complete meal is $25 for adults and $5:00 for children. This will only be a success if you make it so. Please plan to be with us for the evening.
